Over the course of four days, visitors of the DSC 2017 Convention will have the opportunity to contribute to DSC conservation efforts of ensuring the future of hunting and protecting a proud heritage. Through a series of silent and live auctions, convention attendees can bid on a wide variety of multi-day hunts, artwork, firearms, luxury fishing excursions, jewelry and more. This week’s highlighted auction item is a nine-night, first-class peacock bass trip to the Amazon for eight people, valued at $55,600.

Donated by Capt. Peacock Yachts and Expeditions, this once-in-a-lifetime trip to Brazil’s Amazon for eight special guests will navigate the rich waters of the Rio Negro River in a new yacht. The new, state-of-the-art luxurious floating hotel was designed to take up to only 24 guests to an incomparable new level of fishing experience.

Each day, guests will depart in Tracker bass boats to remote tributaries and rainforest in search of some of the best peacock bass fishing in the world. Guests will also experience night bow fishing for giant catfish and stingrays and see indigenous Amazon people in their primitive villages, pink & gray dolphins and a myriad of birds and flowers that cannot be found anywhere else in the world. This trip is perfect for anglers, non-anglers, couples, families, seniors, and is sure to provide a lifetime of memories.

This adventure will originate in Manaus, Brazil. Reached by a five-hour direct flight from the U.S. through American Airlines, the group will be greeted by an English-speaking host then transferred to the best five-star hotel in town for first night. The following morning, guests will travel to the Rio Negro by private charter flight to begin the weeklong Amazon adventure.

Unique signature courses will be prepared by an onboard executive chef and paired with selected red and white South American wines. Daily cocktails, appetizers and full open bar with special drinks and liquors are all included as part of the package. This trip may be taken September 2017 through March 2018 on a date-available-basis. Included are all necessary ground transportation & charter flights while in Brazil, hotel nights in Manaus (in and out), week-long accommodations, meals & drinks aboard yacht, daily maid & laundry service, fishing rods, reels, lines and guided fishing
